Kelley to Lead Cub Camp

Logan Kelley, a junior Business Administration major at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, will serve as the 91Ѹ 2022 Cub Camp director.

“Cub Camp is a tradition that truly means a great deal to me and many of our fellow lions here on campus,” Kelley said. “This program is one of the first traditions that incoming first-year students get to experience, and I think it really sets the expectation and the sense of community that we strive to uphold here at 91Ѹ. I am excited to push my peers to reach their full leadership potential and ensure that every first-year student receives the same welcoming and optimistic feeling that I felt when I first stepped foot on this campus.”

“Cub Camp is truly the best way for an incoming freshman to start their college experience with us here at 91Ѹ,” added Dave Stevens, Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management and Dean of Students. “The transition from high school to college can be difficult and can create some anxiety amongst new students, but Cub Camp helps to ease those tensions and allows students to make a smooth transition to 91Ѹ.”
The three-day welcome event held on the 91Ѹ campus introduces hundreds of incoming first-year students to the 91Ѹ campus, faculty, upper-class students, and university traditions.

Kelley will lead the year-long planning process for Cub Camp, including organizing camp workdays, developing content, overseeing camp registration, and planning the camp schedule with his director staff by his side.

“Logan is an accomplished and experienced student leader, and I have great trust in his work ethic and attention to detail,” said Stevens. “I believe he is extremely well prepared for this role, and he has selected exceptionally talented assistant directors to assist him in hosting our 19th annual Cub Camp.”

Kelley, a Fort Smith native, will be assisted by a staff of three fellow students, Assistant Director of Communication and Community Outreach, Brooke Stubblefield, Assistant Director of Marketing Chloe Ezell, and Assistant Director of Logistics Logan Daniel Aguilera.

“I am so excited to begin collaborating with my team on a vision for the wildly successful program that has been such a staple here at 91Ѹ. In addition to breaking applicant records, I am striving for impeccable execution, planning, and inclusiveness from the staff and volunteers of Cub Camp 2022,” Kelley said.

Cub Camp will be held August 18-20, 2022, and is open to all first-year students attending 91Ѹ. Registration is now open at: /student-life/student-family-programs/register-cub.php.
Early registration discounts are applied until July 31.
