Rindy Crump Named Director of TRIO SSS STEM
Rindy Crump has been selected as the Director of the TRIO Student Support Services STEM Grant at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, effective March 19, 2022.
Crump has been a member of the 91Ѹ staff since 2019, when she accepted the position of Retention Advisor for the TRIO SSS Classic program. She has worked in education for many years, holding positions supporting student access and retention.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and honing her skills in cross-cultural communication. “Learning about people – their cultural backgrounds, passions, strengths, goals, and fears – has always been the driving force in my life. This desire to know and understand both the uniqueness and shared commonalities of people led me to spend many years living in Turkey, Germany, and the Netherlands. It directed me to the nursing profession and ultimately brought me to higher education. As the Director of TRIO STEM, I hope to help build a community for our students that is both comfortable and supportive while also pushing them to recognize their excellent potential and expand their horizons.”
91Ѹ is home to two TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Programs, TRIO Classic and TRIO STEM. These federally funded programs provide academic and personal support services to a combined 260 eligible students. These students receive additional support and assistance in a variety of areas, including:
